3. Concepts
With my research, I started creating basic concept sketches, basing each one on a previously researched design, a starting point to develop the concepts into my own designs.

I made these designs to help me narrow down ideas in order to eventually come up with a final design. These sketches were a simple starting point on the journey to create a final design that I would be happy with. Inspired by the source images, I evaluated the features that made them popular products.
I saw that most designs were made from either Wood, Polymers or Metals, which are the main materials I decided to incorporate into these sketches. I experimented with each material, trying different combinations to see what would be suitable.

With these designs, I questioned my friends and my peers about which designs would they potentially purchase as a lamp to use in their home.
Their feedback helped me decide 3 potential designs to develop further, narrowing down my choices even further. It also helped me decide what materials to consider using as, by popular vote, certain designs with materials were chosen more than others. This gave me a clear idea on where to go next.
